Risk Assessments and Fire Planning

Risk Assessment and Management Systems

Preston Consulting regularly facilitates risk assessment workshops and prepares risk registers and risk management plans. We have a sound knowledge of the requirements of management systems – how to generate organisational ownership, implement and get the best out of your system.  Our people are familiar with the application of the Australian Standard for Risk Management AS/NZS ISO 31000:2009 – Risk management – Principles and guidelines. We have regularly applied the risk management framework to environment and participated in the trial of this approach in environmental impact assessment in WA. Our people have prepared management systems based on the application of the risk management framework for a range of companies in start-up mode. We have organised and facilitated risk assessment workshops and trained personnel to understand and operate within the risk management framework.

Fire Planning and Assessments

Ian Zlatnik (Associate) has been a volunteer fire fighter for over 15 years and assisted Fire and Emergency Services WA to prepare the Rural and Urban Bushfire Threat Analysis documentation, providing advice on the application of risk assessment to fire management.  We are familiar with State Planning Policy 3.7 – Planning in Bushfire Prone Areas, the Guidelines for Planning in Bushfire Prone Areas (WAPC and FESA 2015) and the requirements of Australian Standard 3959 – 2009.
